About Me

My name is Chris Lovell and I have been a genealogist for over 40 years.

Interest in this subject allows me to provide a personal research service mainly dealing with finding heirs to Intestate estates and helping solicitors to find heirs named in Wills
In most cases the only information that is obtained is the deceased persons name, date of death and location that the death took place.
From this information, research is painstakingly undertaken to discover the deceased persons family history, looking for possible living relatives. If possible beneficiaries are located, they are asked to consider using our services, on a small commission basis, to prove their entitlement. If we can not prove this then there is no charge.

The commissions charged for tracing, proving and registering claims are paid by the solicitor on distribution of the estate. There are no fees requested or paid directly from the heirs.

The legal profession are equally welcome to use the probate research services offered and a hourly rate can be agreed before work commences.

I was interviewed by Radio Derby in 2011 about my work - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00hvp70
